Sewing and Books

  • Two envelopes for a SWAK side swap (try saying that quickly)
  • A pile of beautiful cookbooks - I am especially intrigued by the fruit butter recipes in Tart and Sweet and Food in Jars.  Finally My Darling Lemon Thyme arrived for me at my local library, I have loved this blog for a while, so am looking forward to savouring this book and trying some recipes.
  • My current bed time read - I love reading about Eleanor of Aquitaine, she seems to have been ahead of her time, and it would be interesting to see what she would be like as a leader today.

  2. That book on Eleanor looks interesting - she was a very fascinating character wasn't she. Have you read 'Katherine' by Anya Seton? I'm unpacking books at present and are so very far behind in my reading, but you continue to inspire me with new, interesting titles. Have a lovely week. :-)

  6. Hi,
I love The River Cottage cookbooks. I have made several of the recipes in the vegetable cookbook. I did not know they had a preserves book, so how exciting for me. Off to order it from the library. :-)

    1. I would be lost without a library to visit frequently. I am forever seeing new books in shops I want to read, then requesting them from my library.
