LEGO Christmas Tree

Miss B, Mr J and I ventured into the madness that is Auckland City at Christmas time, to see the Lego Christmas Tree in Aotea Square.
The tree is:
  • over 10 metres tall
  • is built from over half a million LEGO blocks
  • weighs 3.5 tonnes
  • took more than 1200 hours to build.
It is lit up at night and has some uniquely kiwi decorative features also -the pukeko, Santa with a surfboard and the kiwis.

  1. Wow, that is impressive, I have never seen anything like it before.

  2. Amazing! I showed Olive your pics, she's 'into' leggo now and she loved the tree!

  3. Now that's different! Do they disassemble it every year, brick by brick?!!!

  4. A very brave adventure!! I even keep away from the centre of little old Howick the week before Christmas!

  5. AMAZING!!! Next week I will be posting about Brickmania located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They create huge builds as well.
My boys LOVE LEGO!! I just shared your post with them.
We love the kiwis peeking out of the gifts! ;-)

  6. Wow this is amazing!! Thanks for sharing the photos!

  7. We took the children into the city to see this also

  8. It feels awesome to read such informative and unique articles on your 2 in 1 tables
