Easter Weekending

Reading
Gardening:
  • potting up some cuttings of favourite succulents
  • winter vegetable seedlings have been planted.  This year I am growing perpetual spinach, celery and corn salad.  I have also planted some lettuce in the hope they will see me through to the end of autumn,
Watching:
  •  Outlander - I have borrowed the first part of Season One.  Having read the series many years ago,  I am really enjoying it and am impressed so far, with how closely it follows the book.
Sewing:
  • a little sewing on Mum's quilt
  • slowly getting this  EPP cartwheel  pillow finished.  Four cartwheels completed, now to join them and add the edging triangles to square it off.
Baking
  • Hot Cross Cookies from here
Hope you have all had a wonderful Easter weekend too.

  1. Wonderful post, Julie. I loved Outlander when I read it 15 years ago. The TV version is beautiful, they really nailed the casting in my opinion. The quilt blocks are beautiful. So far, I've only been brave enough to do squares :) :) I've read some of Karen White's books, so I'll have to check this one out too. Right now I'm reading "The Last Anniversary" by Liane Moriarty. Have a great week.

  3. The succulents look like a lot of fun. My favorite is the one with the white strips.
We love hot cross buns. My husband makes them each year for us.
    Happy New Week,
    Carla

  4. Looks like you have been busy! Love your colour combo for the cartwheel pillow, some clever fussy cutting I see! No baking around here this weekend, it's all just chocolate :)

  5. Schools were closed for 5 days for Easter here which was fab. Even more fab is 2.5 weeks of school and then another 2 week holiday break :) The cartwheel blocks look great.
