Weekending

We had  rain on and off this weekend.  So after Saturday morning music lessons for Miss B and Mr J we went to Scholastic Books for a weekend sale.  Fill a box for $20.  It was a great deal,  however I think that half of Auckland had the same idea.  We queued for a while, fought the crowds and eventually came out with a box of books and two happy children.

The unpredictable weather meant that quite a lot of time was spent inside, so I did some of this:

Yes, I finished my Ruby Star Cushion.  I'm quite pleased with how it has turned out.  It is backed in some aqua Vintage Modern fabric with an envelope enclosure.  Now hopefully this will motivate me to finish my Ruby quilt - sooner rather than later.

Tried out a new recipe and made an apple slice and some spiced pear muffins.

Fossicked through my fabric stash and pulled some together for a little project.  The striped fabric is vintage linen from Czechoslovakia, I think they were tea towels, but they have never been used. I am not sure how old they are, they were found in my Gran's linen collection.  The charm squares are Salt Air from Moda.

Started the above-mentioned project.

Refereed a couple of fights between my children, stepped over  Lego constructions and creations, paged through recipe and garden books for inspiration while drinking numerous hot drinks.

Overall a  pretty relaxing weekend.  How did you spend yours?
